Glacier Eye Clinic was formed in April 1995 when the Kalispell Eye Clinic and Weber Eye Clinic merged. At that time our new office at 160 Heritage Way was built and the practice started with three ophthalmologists, Dr. Gibson, Dr. Weber, and Dr. Barth, and two optometrists, Dr. Richard Robins and Dr. Clay Benkelman. Dr. Gibson had started the Kalispell Eye Clinic in October 1963, and Dr. Weber had begun his practice as the Weber Eye Clinic in July 1976 with Dr. Barth joining in 1991.
Since the creation of the Glacier Eye Clinic we have strived to provide comprehensive eye care in a warm and friendly fashion using state of the art equipment at our clinic in the Two Medicine Building. Satellite clinics have been established in Polson and Libby where surgery is also performed. Dr. Gibson retired in October 1998 at which time Dr. Mark Remington joined the practice. Dr. Jon Olsen joined the Optometric department in September 2006. Dr. Jerry Meislik has practiced medical ophthalmology at Glacier Eye Clinic since 2001. Dr. Alme, the first retina ophthalmologist in the Flathead Valley, joined in July 2008.
